Reverse Engineering with GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar)

This project was performed in a two level parking garage in Clear Lake, Texas, and the actual scope of work was to locate rebar layout in order to design metal brackets. Those metal brackets would provide structural support to the cross beams and the concrete slab.

The scanning was carried out with a Structure Scanner that is capable to detect small objects with great accuracy in a concrete structure. Based on the determined rebar layout, measurements were made to create a sketch for the AutoCAD drawing. By using that drawing the metal bracket was able to be manufactured.
